Craigslist is popping up and getting decent listings in many cities I travel to that are not the best for p4p in the traditional sense, Canada, Japan, Shanghai, MNL, etc. But for some cities (Colombia, Indonesia) it is just getting off the ground. Kinda fun to explore if you can't get out of your hotel. Any experiences to share?
You gotta be very vigilent and be ready to sort through the trash and scams, but I found myself a few gems here and there. Here are a few I'd like to explore if I was there.

The Tokyo one of the Asian girl is most likely a fraud.
The listing was probably posted by an agency. I can tell by the language used (unless of course she is not Japanese and is Asian North American - then it could be possible - but still doubtful).

Using Craigslist is like strolling thru a Cambodian minefield just because it's a sunny day and you want some exercise.
In the US the majority of the pictures are bogus and so many scams it's not worth it IMO.
Why would it be different in another county ??

craigslist in the US, especially Chicago where i live is full of scams and law enforcement stings. You really have to be careful there, plus lots of bait and switch routines. Mojo

Maybe just dumb luck for me, but have had several decent hookups in Shanghai, and more recently in Vancouver (can't mention US here). In Vancouver (where I think its legal), very active reviewing of the gals and the gal I eventually met was a 9+ Indian/Canadian student. I also try to target incall so they can't bail on me, if I don't see what I like, I bail on them.

Yeah, if a hooker has time to post 30 ads a day, you know she's a quality experience waiting to happen.

We should focus on the CL International hookups, which is the purpose of this thread. Internationally, I've had some success and I'll just say that there are a few gems to be found at home for me as a few others have noted.

I spot-checked, and it seems that the prices are high, probably because these listings are oriented towards horny tourists who are not knowledgeable about mongering venues, prices, etc.
There were some services listed that charged US-level prices.
Anyone have knowledge of pricing (foreign)?

IF, just supposing, there were services in the United States, here's the latest regarding that subject and Craigslist:
Craigslist to crack down on prostitution ads
From Associated Press
November 06, 2008 12:39 PM EST
HARTFORD, Conn. - Under the watchful eye of law enforcement in 40 states, Craigslist pledged Thursday to crack down on ads for prostitution on its Web sites.
As part of Craigslist's agreement with attorneys general around the country, anyone who posts an "erotic services" ad will be required to provide a working phone number and pay a fee with a valid credit card. The Web site will provide that information to law enforcement if subpoenaed.
Craigslist has also agreed to sue 14 software and Internet companies that help people who post erotic service ads to circumvent the Web site's defenses against inappropriate content and illegal activity.
Craigslist, which posts ads for everything from apartment rentals to jobs in dozens of cities, will also begin using new search technology in an effort to help authorities find missing children and victims of human trafficking.
Police across the country have been arresting people for using Web sites like Craigslist to advertise the sexual services of women and children.
"The dark side of the Internet must be stopped from eclipsing its immense potential for good," Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said in a statement Thursday.

"... immense potential for good"? It's all about what you consider to be good, isn't it?
