Two things I find interesting about the article below. First, the "deriving support from prostitution" charge is new to me. Must be targeted towards pimps?
Second, once again that whole perv element makes an appearance in association with mongering.
Police say they uncover brothel-on-wheels in Miami

(06-25) 14:54 PDT MIAMI (AP) --
An alleged brothel-on-wheels that authorities said they busted over the weekend gives a whole new meaning to keeping the party moving.
Miami Beach undercover detectives who paid a $40 entry fee and boarded a stretch limousine bus Sunday found women onboard offering oral sex and lap dances for money, authorities said.
Authorities arrested Christine Morteh, 29, of Miramar, and the driver, Clyde Scott, along with four other people Sunday. Miami-Dade jail spokeswoman Janell Hall said Morteh faces charges including offering to commit or engage in prostitution, conducting business without a license, directing another to a place of prostitution and deriving support from prostitution.
Hall said Morteh was released on $7,000 bail on Tuesday and does not yet have an attorney. A telephone listing for her couldn't be found.
Scott, 41, also faces charges including directing another to prostitution, possession of a controlled substance and deriving support from prostitution, Hall said. He was released Sunday on $11,500 bond. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
The bust was part of a nationwide undercover sweep called "Operation Cross Country" that was aimed at finding child prostitutes and headed by the FBI. Operations in 16 cities led to the recovery of 21 children, the FBI said.
FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela said 78 people were arrested in Miami and two in Tampa during the sweep.
Orihuela said there were no child prostitutes in the limousine.

What bothers me is the scope of the "Operation Cross Country" seems a guise for what is really a full out assault of "pay for pussy in the states" and has nothing with protecting the kids. Reminds me of the "war on terror" which essentialy created a "ministry of interior to spy on it on people". What also seems more dangerous is the presidence that this sets, who is to say they don't expand the scope to any american seeking paid pussy in a forign country as was once proposed by a fine texas senator (to make sex tourism illegal).

Speaks volumes about the moral compass of the U.S. and where our priorities lay...
They love to throw in the word "child", no matter how unrelated to the actual story to stir up negative emotion towards folks just trying to get a nut/make a living.
Got news for you folks, the terrorists already won...

John Cornyn (the Republican Senator from Texas) Public Enemy # 1 for Club Hombre members. Introuced/sponsored legislation that was struck down but would have made it a felony for anyoneone seeking travel for sex (sex tourism). Arguing that the Protect Act of 2003 doesn't do enough by just protecting the children of forighn countries that laws must also protect adults too. Wonder if masturabation would carry a civil penalty?

Anybody that really wants to protect children from prostitution would be for legalizing and regulating it as a licensed business.
These sick republican bastards just want to appeal to small minded evangelicals by forcing the exploitation of teeny boppers and pretending that they are doing something against it.

Even more frightening is Sen. Cornyn's allies in spreading this sort of rhetoric.

I see no possible outcome whereby freedom will be returned to this country in the foreseeable future. All political activity both sides of the aisle these days is focused on shoving one or another political agenda down my throat against my will. The left says I will soon be free...... to act exactly the way they want me to act.... The religious right says I am free...... to act exactly the way god wants me to act. No one anywhere with a political chance in hell is even hinting that they will leave me the fuck alone to live my life the way I want all free like and everything.

Although I condemn those politicians who conflate child prostitution with adult prostitution, I also have little patience for those who would automatically condemn a politician for supporting awareness of human trafficking. Although some politicians may try to equate human trafficking with prostitution to support their own anti-prostitution agendas, there are other politicians who are genuinely concerned about the problem of human trafficking for what it is.
Until such time as Obama or Feinstein, or any others show they are using their stated concern for human trafficking to further another agenda such as an anti-prostitution one, it is unfair to condemn them.

Sorry LAGuy the "Benefit of the doubt" was lost with W.

Gggmaddux: I never gave W the benefit of the doubt so I guess your point, whatever it is, is lost on me.
