Anyone else watching this?...
It goes without saying that Aracely Arambula-- here playing the visionary Jarocha "Perla"-- is arguably the hottest chica in all of Mexico, but by far the most entertaining element of this engrossing drama is Enrique Rocha's interpretacion of the villanous "Don Sebastian"...
He is chewing scenery like crazy and frankly dominates the novela...
Thumbs-up, too, to Jorge Salinas' turn as the the saintly Gabriel, who is financially underwriting about 10 of his friends and acquaintances out of the goodness of his heart...
And, oh yeah, Martha Julia as Sandra and Ivonne Montero as a sexy paredita are incredibly hot as well...

I also forgot to mention the storyline involving the 15-yr. old prostitute (newcomer Erika Torres, another CEA product)...Her padrot(a) is apparently charging $2500 USD for 2 hours...The young chava, of course, has intenciones as pure as the driven snow-- she needs money for dear Tia's chemotherapy...
And yes, young Erika is pretty damn hot...

Clearly Emilio Larosa had lost control of this novela months ago, but to have it end as he publicly feuded with Aracely Arambula during an otherwise tranquil edition of "La Oreja" was categorically embarassing...
The air raid sirens should have begun going-off once Chuy was killed off at the height of his popularity about a month into the novela, but most of us hung in there, figuring that Larosa knew what he was doing...Hind sight, of course, is invariably 20-20...

break that Novela habit while you can. I got sucked in a few years back and it took me like 4 years to break the habit. I have been Novela free for about 18 months now.

Aracely is damn hot, but by the end of the novela I was ranking three other Vias del Amor actrizes ahead of her, namely, Aleida Nunez, Martha Julia (novia de Gabriel Soto), and the luscious Ivonne Montero (currently no. 3 on my hottest Mexicana list)...
It was a great novela from a chica perspective, and from the standpoint of pure diversionary entertainment for a time it was as enthralling as any novela I have ever watched (which truly is saying something), but Larosa I think was using focus groups to shape his narrative and the entire enterprise eventually collapsed...
How, for instance, was Gabriel Soto allowed to become an afterthought by the end of the novela?...And, what, exactly, constituted the ballyhooed Venganza de Gabriel?...I mean, beyond Jorge Salinas staring sternfaced into the camara during Televisa's innumerable midday promos?...
