My passport needs to be renewed soon.Looking at the form, the government now requires a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER on the renewal form.Neither my original filing nor two other renewals required this!
Does anyone know the purpose of this? I assume it is either to keep terrorists out or to keep citizens with TAX LIENS in.
Any recent experiences will be appreciated.
thanks and keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!

Social Security numbers are indexed to the National Death Registry. Now you can't use a dead person's SSAN for a passport.
