So when will life as we know it come to an end? Is the End of Days upon us?
According to some, and as promoted by the new movie, the Mayans prophesied that the end of times will arrive in 2012. Purportedly this idea comes from the fact that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, with the winter solstice. I'm guessing the Mayan in charge of calendar development got bored with his rather repetitive job and simply refused to carry his calendar-making any further into the future.
I am deeply concerned, however, by the apparent prediction being made by the powers-that-be at Club Hombre. If you try to add an event to the CH calendar, you'll find that it ends on 12/31/09. You can not enter any events for the years 2010 and beyond! What does this mean? I was considering booking some travel for early 2010 but am now rethinking the wisdom of doing so.
Please, Hombre, tell us what's going on. Inquiring minds want to know!

I have found a preacher that has the answers to the end of life - because he has the spirit of truth!

Doesn't the world as some of these guys know it come to an end when Help closes?

Some scriptures relevant to the end of times.
Revelation 21:8 (King James Version)
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
You're all doomed.

Actually, the mayans step forward and said it does not predict the end of the world, some others outside the mayan civilization using the mayan info interpeted it to be the end of the world.

I had a couple of Mayans over cutting my grass and cleaning out my gutters this afternoon and they didn't mention anything regarding the end of the world.

Supposedly 12/21/12 is the final day. This date has been around for awhile among different cultures.
Not quite sure how it was determined.

12/21/12? That doesn't bode well for my 12/2013 return to Rio to celebrate my 50th.
Should I move it up a year?

DG,
I would, and if nothing happens then consider it a dress rehearsal. Besides, it's a great excuse for another trip to Rio.

I read somewhere the Mayan calendar simply ends a cycle on that date, then begins a new cycle.
I'm still trying to decide if I'm an idolater or not...

Since it is widely understood amongst my religious brethren that Obama is the Antichrist prophesied in the book of Revelations. Clearly we are in the end times.
Repent now sinners!!
Revelations 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

"I'm still trying to decide if I'm an idolater or not..."
Seems that the Sorcerers are getting a bad rap here. Most that I have known are pretty decent fellows. Doesn't seem fair to lump them in with Muderers and Mongers.

Since we're planning SweetMesquite's second funeral for sometime this March 2010, we should probably go ahead and start planning for CFK's first funeral.

As I am not a Christian or a Mayan I have nothing to worry about...right?
BTW I am typing this in the lounge at SP on my way to Rio, so I guess I am covering my bets.

The calendar is fixed now. If you don't get past 2009 you might have to reload the page.

Cool....many thanks, Hombre. Nice to know we have a reprieve on the End of Days.
