Chances are great that you already have/had it and have suffered and will suffer no ill effects whatsoever. Most adults in the US general population, and surly ALL of the global prostitute/whoremonger population have already been exposed to multiple strains of HPV and most will never have any adverse symptoms or even know it at all. Have you ever kissed a girl who may have sucked a few hundred or a few thousand dicks before she met you?
Getting the HPV vaccine IS a great idea and the HPV vaccine is effective for men as well as women. But it is "off-label" for men and therefore not covered by some health insurance plans and, so it may cost several hundred dollars out of pocket or else your doctor may be reluctant to provide it. If you have already been exposed to the strains it is effective against, it offers no additional protection.
I figure HPV vaccine is a great thing for the next generation, though surly to late for me. But I have no doubt I'll be fine anyway. It's out there as a threat but I'm positive I'll die trying to cross a street in Jakarta before I'm killed by any more exotic cause. If your insurance covers it or money is no object get the vaccine. If not? Why worry?

So what about the strains that cause Throat Cancer? If you don't have Throat Cancer have you "not been exposed"?
That would be a very compelling reason for me to consider getting the vaccine.

For most of us, getting the HPV vaccine would be as useful as helping to bail out the Titanic with a dixie cup.

-If you've ever performed oral sex you've been exposed. Remember, the more sexual partners one has, the greater the likelihood of HPV infection.
