Question What is the incidence of contacting HIV via oral sex? More precisely, how often does a man get HIV from an infected sex worker via oral sex (blow job)?
Answer
There have not been any reported cases of this type of transmission by getting sucked. Therefore it remains a "theoretical" risk only. For transmission to occur this way, the sex worker would probably need blood in her mouth that would need to find an open cut or sore on your penis. The risk associated with oral sex is for the person whose mouth comes into contact with infected semen, pre-cum, blood or other fluid from a sore on the penis. Therefore, getting sucked is a very low risk activity.
According to the San Francisco Deparment of Health Pamphlet Oral Sex: Using Your Head:
There have been no studies measuring the risk of getting the AIDS virus through oral sex alone. Until better scientific information is available, the actual risk from oral sex is unknown. Meanwhile, available evidence suggests that:
HIV is not easy to get from any kind of oral sex.
Bleeding gums, gum disease, and sores in the mouth can make it easier to get infected with HIV through oral sex.
There have been recorded cases of getting HIV from sucking or giving head.
There have been no recorded cases of getting HIV from getting sucked.
There have no recorded cases of getting HIV from rimming or getting rimmed.
It is much easier to get HIV from sucking than from getting sucked.
It is much easier to get HIV from anal sex without a condom than from oral sex.

As posted in the 4x4 thread.

Personally I'm more worried by riding in taxis in Rio with the seatbelts removed than getting AIDS from bareback blow jobs.

You cannot get AIDS from blow jobs of any kind. This is absolute nonsense and is not sound by any measure of science.
My son's HS biology teacher is actually telling his class that a girl can get AIDS from swallowing cum. She is also telling the kids that they need to wear a condom, use spermacide and a diaphram every time they want to fuck. SHIT! Why not a fucking raincoat and boots as well!??!?
There is a ton of bull shit out there. Use common sense.

This subject comes up constantly. I tend to agree, with the usual caveat that if you have a blood-gushing open wound on your tongue or lips you could conceivably become infected, if you're the one catching. Pitching, I don't think so at all.

Why is getting a BBBJ deemed to be so relatively safe? You are putting yourself into a mouth that may well have sucked over a hundred other dicks that week.

The mouth is not a very friendly place for it. The way I see it is in the proof - Some of the girls in the Rio termas have worked there for many years. The majority of these girls never use a condom for a BJ, but are tested regularly for STD's including HIV. They keep working there for years. If HIV is caught via BBBJ then they would be the first to catch it and the turn over rate would be inredibly high as they are screened out during the monthly HIV testing. Additionally, I have a hard time believing that any of these girls want to catch this shit and would protect themselves much more when providing BJ's if it was evident to them it was risky. Obviously if their friends were to start falling ill around them they would have quickly figured it out.

Probably the most heavily tested people on this planet are the hardworking pros in the porn film biz. Not a one of them will put a rubber on to give or receive a blowjob.

It's safe as long as the person giving the blowjob doesn't use her teeth too much...

there is a grand total of 0 documented hiv cases from contracting via oral sex. The risk us theoretical at best.
Really, y'all have more important things to think about (hopefully)

Ok but how many girls in these third world countries know about good dental care. In Alot of them their teeth, especially SG'g, are in pretty bad shape, which translates to bleeding gums, gingivitis etc, so their could be a slight risk there.

I realize the risk of HIV may be virtually nil, but what about other nasties?
By Khun_mor on Sunday, January 27, 2008 - 08:39 pm: Edit |
I totally agree!!
All of you guys should cover up with ALL kinds of sex . Even if you're going to just play with her pussy I think you should put on latex gloves.
There's some weird shit out there!!

Sometimes I get a BBBJ and there is a little to much teeth involved and my dick gets sore. I don't like that to much. Never got AIDS yet though.

So...simple, if you are scared then cover up and don't worry about it! As many BBBJ's I have gotten it should have fallen off by now, but actually the true way to pick-up nasty things are via kissing. Caught many colds, flu, and sore throats. That is my biggest worry - a girl with a cold or flu giving it to me! I think the discussions about BBBJ are really useless as everyone has their very own strongly formed opinions. When I started mongering I was scared and paranoid, compared to now when a BBBJ is not negotiable - part of every interview. If a girl doesn't give it then I prefer not to do anything with her. A friend of mine left with a hottie in Help about 3 years ago and told me that she only did CBJ's....as a result I have stayed away from her ever since! Everybody has their own comfort level.

HIV is not really the problem, Hepatitis B is the real problem.
And yes you can get it by oral sex. The risk is very small because the acids in saliva kill a lot of things, but it is still much more contagious than HIV.
That being said, I still don't like CBJ. So I have just decided to deal with it.

Well, since I have been fortunate to enjoy many in the past week I just want to say that I agree with many that unless either there is a cut or scratch on the receipiant or an actual problem of sorts with the person performing the act there is no reason to worry. Obviously if we all could bend over, lick ourselves and perform this act we wouldn´t have this concern. Those damn dogs are so lucky!

Anyone on this board who has not gotten the Hep B vaccine is foolish . That should not be a concern .
By Sniper on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 08:17 am: Edit |
I know, but as you probably have run into, there are guys on this board that don't even go to the doctor for a checkup let alone a vaccination.
Hep A & B is so easy to avoid. Hep C is also a possibility but even that is extremely low but I'm not sure if there is a vaccination for it yet.
There is something going on in San Francisco, LA, and NY that is a new strain of staph infections. Very contagious and resistant to antibiotics. Health officials are having problems finding a way to cure it. Its running rampant in the gay communities up here since you can get it from uncovered blow jobs but you can get it even by kissing.
I don't think there is a case of death yet, but it is scary stuff. I am surprised that more guys off CH don't get miscellaneous STD's.
Anyone out there care to share their stories?
By Gcl on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 01:39 pm: Edit |
My name is GCL and I am a pussy addict.
I have been mongering outside the US since 2001. I have slept with somwhere around 2000 prostitutes. Sometimes if I was in a 'relationship' I would bareback them, but that was with a select few (I am probably lucky). So except for maybe 5 girls out of 2000 I used condoms. I recieved uncovered bjs from most of them.
Once I contracted scabies; I suspect from the sheets of one of the lower end downtown Rio apartment places. I quickly identified it and used a cream from the pharmacy to cure it. Other than that I never contracted an STD in Rio.

I saw in Pattaya, there are many bars not allowing public for the shows. Is any private membership needed to the shows?
