Thanks for the alert. Isn't this the test that was discussed recently in the chat sections? If I recall correctly, they were not FDA approved (supposedly on purpose because of the DIY prohibition on HIV tests). I could not get to the Discreet web site today.
I think FDA approval is essential for this type of product. One can sell an always-negative test kit and get away with it for quite some time because of the rarity of HIV+ and also the I-like-the-result-so-I-won't-challenge-it factor.
In the test kit thread, I posted about the HHS secretary talking about possible removal of the DIY prohibition. If this comes to pass, I believe the testing landscape will change significantly.
