I had been using Original Viagra, Levitra and Cialis and, to save costs, moved on to Indian and Chinese generic versions of Cialis etc.
Recently, I have developed a bad "swollen eye" (around the eye) whenever I used the stuff and it always begins with a stuffy nose, blocked sinus just before the area surrounding one eye (my left) starts to swell.
My suspicion is that it is linked to "nitric oxide" because these tabs are supposed to produce some kind of "nitric oxide" gas in the body which makes for the kind of blood circulation that gives me the super hard ons.
Yesterday, I overdosed on something I started to use recently having given up on the tabs.
Super- Concentrated Noni Juice that I squirt under the tongue. It helps but its slower working than the tabs so I squirted under my tongue 3 pippetes of the stuff instead of the recommended 1 pippette. This stuff is supposed to generate a lot of "nitric oxide gas in the body"
The nasal congestion started and my sinus was blocked and the swelling eye started again.
Anyone knows more about nitric oxide gas and the pros and cons. Better, if anyone knows why my eye keeps on swelling up when I take the tabs, places advice me what best to do. My GP is as puzzled as me and attributes it to a simple case of allergy! I think it's more than that.
Here are some notes that I extracted from a medical supplier's website:
"Nitric oxide is a colorless gas produced by many different cells in the body that, depending on the situation, can be very good or very bad. Nitric oxide plays several important roles in the body:
* Nitric oxide is an important signaling molecule that turns genes on and off.
* By controlling the muscular tone of blood vessels, nitric oxide regulates the circulation and normalizes blood flow.
* Nitric oxide modulates communication between brain cells and is instrumental in helping us concentrate and learn new information, and also in maintaining memory.
* When produced by immune cells, nitric oxide fights infection, kills tumor cells and promotes wound healing.
* Nitric oxide is essential for perceiving pleasure and pain, and it helps translate sexual excitement into penile erections.
* Nitric oxide aids in digestion of food by helping to control gastric movements.
But nitric oxide can be very destructive under other circumstances:
* Nitric oxide restricts blood flow.
* When produced in excess by immune cells, nitric oxide can trigger chronic inflammation, which can cause arthritis, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease and possibly cancer.
* Nitric oxide promotes production of more free radicals.
* In the brain, nitric oxide can hamper mental function and cause memory loss and brain aging.
The real trouble starts when nitric oxide encounters the superoxide free radical and becomes peroxynitrate, which destroys antioxidants like glutathione, vitamin E and common flavonoids, and damages proteins in the body. As long as nitric oxide is produced in the right amount, it remains friendly. But if nitric oxide is overproduced, the effect can be very toxic. "

More than a bit of misinformation . Nitric oxide is a highly soluable gas that is in your bloodstream all the time. It is produced naturally by the bodies cells . Viagra does not release nitric oxide or increase nitric oxide. It inhibits phosphodiesterase type 5 which enhances the effect of nitric oxide on smooth muscle. It relaxes smooth muscle cells therefore increases the blood flow to the penis. It also increases blood flow to the nose ,eyes, sinuses, etc. , and that is the source of many of it's side effects . Nasal congestion , swollen eyes, headache .
The swelling comes from excess bloodflow and now that you are troubled with these adverse reactions they will always occur and you should avoid all three.
Try to find Uprima - or apomorphine - made by Abbott labs which has a totally different mechanism of action. a sublingual tablet that works in the brain and nervous system - does not have same side effect profile. It was available in Thailand at one time when I checked. I use the usual three because they are free and Uprima - not licensed in US I cannot get from my friendly drug detail chick.
After that you got the herbs and snake oils .

KM,
Thanks for the educated inputs. I did not talk to the doc who has been my initial and main source of the original V/C/Ls. I did not want him to cancel his prescription for me.
For some of my closer friends and business associates, I still use my prescribed account to buy the named products for their needs as they are shy to get prescribed for their own reasons.
Now what about the swollen eye from the overdose of concentrated Noni Joice leaf extract?
(Nitr0 -from http://www.enliven.com) I have been using the stuff off and on based on "swear to god" testimonies of friends when I dropped the V/C/Ls. It never did worked for me the same as the drugs except that, it gave me an equal swollen eye that day when I overdosed!
In your books, it'll probably be stuff of herbs and snake oils! Then, the swollen eye was real alright! Any comments?
On Uprima, this "enquiring mind" did some surfing on the net after reading your post and it seems to have potential.
Any comments on the known documented fact that about 1 in 40 users have low blood pressure and fainting spells?
I suppose if my willy refuses to perform adequately (I still believe it's just a psychological crutch that I am trying to shake off); I will dive into Uprima whatever the risks.
Can't keep on dissapointing half the women some of the time!
Lastly, was it ever approved by the FDA or US Authorities as the net articles I read were not clear about approvals. (one of them saying that it was withdrawn by TABs the licensed manufacturers)
Thanks in advance.

I tried Uprima back when it first came out. I was totally unimpressed. It is supposed to work by stimulating the release of dopamine in the brain resulting in a more mental effect than a physical effect. In reality, it did little if anything for me as far as I can tell. If mental stimulation is what is required, nakid puyings are far more effective than any pills. Simply increase the dosage of nakid puyings until the desired effect is reached.

IAS
All sexual response is started by a " mental effect " even the one enhanced by Viagra.
Unless the initial placebo controlled trials were faked it had an equal success to Viagra etc. It worked even in dudes who had total prostatectomies with the nerves to their schlong severed.
It works in about 15-20 minutes and can be taken every eight hours.

39 out of 40 do not get low BP or fainting, good enough for me ! :-)
As for your eye and the herb - it may have the same effect as V on the PDE 5 who knows ?? I have no idea what it is let alone what it does.
Epi
Never priced it . I was just told by Marc at Eden that he had it and it was sold in pharmacies in BKK a few years ago. BTW it has additive effects to Viagra since it has different mechanism of action. No recommendation was ever made to use together and I am certainly not doing so - just the facts .
