Keep in mind if you are the muscular athletic type, BMI becomes bullshit.
Perhaps also if you have giant breasts. (and are a woman)

Actually BMI is always BS I had myself checked at a specialist clinic to fined my ideal body weight this included a morning of tests. All in all it was quite impressive. I still have a ton of weight to loose but I would still be obese at my goal weight if I went by the BMI.

Belly fat is a better indicator imo. Using a tape measure, measure under your armpits then your waist.
Basically your chest should exceed your waist. 5" is about average....9" or more is fantastic. If you're negative...then start hitting the gym.
