I use Netscape for surfing the net and ie explorer for email and business. As a stand alone browser, netscape is far more secure then ie, which microsoft has intergrated throughout the entire operating system.

These files exist on your machine because you downloaded them, not because you viewed a particular sit or web page. Worst culprit for these file types to get into your machine are the various viewers you must download to access certain sites. Cookies can be easily deleted with programs like Spyware etc... while these files can not ( as you are experiencing) The best advice is to not download any or these. As mentioned, best to have your local 14 yr old computer wiz clean out these ghost files. save all importamt date, check each file for hidded files, then re-format. Good luck......

ps.... you might try installing another browser ( one you do not already use) and see if the pop ups continue.
