Snake, there are always places to go. I never bothered to monger while in Kuwait, but just hit the pub in the major hotels in Kuwait City a few times, meet some of the Brits or other expats, and ask around. If you can't find anything to your liking in Kuwait City, Manama is only a 45-minute flight away and a flight to Dubai is an hour and a half or so. Either place is great for a weekend trip.
