Basically, if you are at least 55, you can stay indefinitely (annual renewal) as long as you can prove an income of $20K/yr and/or maintain a bank balance of $20K.
If you are under 55 you can also get an annually renewable visa, but it requires significantly larger investment in Thai assets - property and/or bank balance of 3 million baht - about $76K.
