This is just a very short report on a couple of days I spent in Chiang Mai last year.

I flew into Chiang Mai on a Saturday afternoon. I was staying in a guesthouse in the middle of town, the taxi ride there was 50 baht. I spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening exploring the area.

I headed out to check the nightlife around 9:00pm. My first stop was a place called Spicy (CH Link) that I had heard about here or another board. Apparently it's some kind of freelance disco that doesn't get going until after 1am or 2am and stays busy until 5am or 6am, but I didn't know this at the time. At 9:20pm it was dead. I didn't bother coming back to check it out since my time in Chiang Mai was limited. According to Google, Spicy is located at 70/4-8 Chaiyaphum Road.

Chaiyaphum Road/Kotchasam Road is a one direction street parallel to Moon Mueang Road running in the other direction and separated by a moat. These two streets form the Eastern side of over eight streets that form a perfect square around the moat and center of Chiang Mai. Most, if not all, of the hobbying activities are located on or to the east of this square, centered along Tha Pae Road. Addresses on the streets forming the square can be tricky because they may change names unexpectedly. For example, although the outer eastern section appears to be one street, it is Chaiyaphum Road to the north of Tha Pae and Kotchasam Road to the south, while the inside street is Moon Mueang Road in both directions.

I should also mention that you will see Tha Pae written in various places on the web as Thapae, one word. If I recall correctly, the street signs have it as one word, but Google Maps has it as two so that's how I wrote it so you can find places on the map more easily.

After Spicy I headed south to SpotLight A Gogo (CH Link), a small go-go located past Tha Pae at 47 Kotchasam Road. The hours here were 7pm to 1am. I ordered a beer which set me back 115 baht. Prices according to the posted sign were 600 baht for a barfine until 8pm, then 500 baht after that. I quickly spotted a girl I liked, but she was busy with another customer. I hung out for awhile, but she never freed up. Eventually I invited over a girl I'll call Butterfly. She wasn't as pretty as my first choice, but she seemed to have a good attitude, so I barfined her. The cost was 600 baht for the bar and 1500 baht for her. I couldn't take Butterfly to the guesthouse, so I had to pay an additional 350 baht for a short time hotel nearby and 50 baht to get us there.

Butterfly started the session with a CBJ. That was disappointing, but the sex picked up from there and was good overall. She asked for a tip, but I didn't give her one because of the CBJ. She didn't seem bothered by that. She also asked for 100 baht for her taxi. I went ahead and gave that to her.

The next day was a flurry of activity as I tried to see as much as I can. I did manage to see quite a bit.

For Sunday evening I hit Foxy Lady (CH Link) at 80/12 Tha Pae Road Soi 1. They have a website at http://www.foxyladychiangmai.com/. The go-go is located on the Soi 1 street off of Tha Pae Road. From the city center you can get here by heading east on Tha Pae Road and turning right/south at Soi 1. Soi 1 is a small street resembling an alley and should be the sixth or seventh intersection to the east between Khampangdin Road and Chang Klan Road. Foxy Lady will be approximately half-way down the street on the right side.

I wasn't that impressed with the talent here, but fortunately I ended up with a cute girl I'll call Sparkleheart. My costs here were 85 baht for my beer, 130 baht for her shots, 600 baht for the barfine, and 2000 baht for her. Again I also paid another 400 baht for the same short time hotel and transporation there. The sex with Sparkleheart was similar to Butterfly, a decent but covered BJ followed by some passionate sex. This one didn't ask for a tip or taxi money, nor did I give one to her.

There were some other places I wanted to visit that I had a little bit of information on, such as the Sayuri Complex (CH Link) and Star Six, but I was tired from the busy day and didn't have any more time. The next day I did some more sightseeing before catching a flight in the late afternoon to elsewhere in Thailand.

BL do you happen to know if a karoake bar called Chiang Mai Cafe still exists, by the Riverside Hotel? Was there years ago and they had some really beautiful young women there for takeout. Unusual scene, they would "sing" on stage for one song, then would have a drink with a customer or go for takeout.

Sorry, I never heard of Chiang Mai Cafe. I had a couple more places I wanted to visit, but didn't have the time to visit them.

Was there a cover charge for this bar? I remember trying to go into a gogo in Chiang Mai a few years ago and they asked for a 500 bht cover charge.
