| Robertx, Some points in your post are, to me, a bit confusing, and some (IMHO) pose some need for clarification. "9) Some of the SG look underage, but if they are standing in the main area it seems to be okay. Whoever pimps them was able to provide ID to claim they are 18. That is good enough for me :-)" Pimping in MX is very much against the law, and this particular law tends to be enforced. (based on my understanding) Additionally, every chica I've ever talked with works on her own. Hell, even the Bar Chicas are freelancers, for the most part. There ARE underage chicas on the street. Don't kid yourself. If in doubt, one can casually ask to see an ID just to be sure. (be tactful about this, or you'll blow the whole deal, with la chica walking away from you) If la chica doesn't have an ID, WALK AWAY. Mexican law requires everyone to have ID with them, and there seems little chance that a MX citizen would risk the associated fines/jail time by engaging in a 'gray area' job without ID. (IMHO) Being caught with an under age chica is DEEP $HIT for the guy. "10) I try to avoid going to their hotel. Most of the SG hotels are really filthy and they'll only give you 10-15 min. I've used Hotel Nelson and took them there…." Agreed that the SG hotels are DUMPS. True, Hotel Nelson is a fair choice for a 'chica' hotel. BUT, to get there from la zona, one must walk through an area that has the dubious honor of being "ratero central". I'm not so sure that walking around Constitution & 1st in the company of a SG who I don't know very well is the safest thing to do. I would STRONGLY suggest Cascadas as a much better alternative. It's closer, cheaper, and just as clean as HN. Plus, most SGs will go there for no additional fee. "11) You do not have to tip a SG. The deal you made is written in stone. She already charges you the gringo price." (IMHO) Tipping is a good way of letting la chica know that she's pleased you. If she's done an especially good job, why not give her an extra $5-$10? You might be surprised at the level of service if you choose to take her again in the future. My experience suggests that a small tip, properly given, produces grand rewards down the road. I'd suggest that your 'buying a drink' rule applies here as well. If she asks for it, or expects a tip, she's not going to get it. But, if she pleases you in some "unique" way, it's small change invested for future benifit. Just my $.02
