| About 9 months back, for about a three week period, there was a group of Amish guys that would hang out in the Zona with a middle-aged white guy in a Members Only jacket that would be their 'liaison' to the chicas. Off the top of my head, it has to rank as the most bizarre thing I have seen in TJ. The pimp guy would drive them around in his Toyota, cruising the alley reaaaal slow, and they would point at the street girls who would giggle at them in return. I have NO idea what arrangements they ever made with the girls -- they seemed to like ogling, but I never really saw any touching going on -- but just seeing these supposed religious zealots in the ultimate den of decadence was supremely surreal. We asked to take their pic one night outside Las Chavelas, and they cheerfully agreed and posed. TOO entertaining. Redongdo -- That 'non-local' with the cowboy outfit on at the Cucaracha on Saturday was pretty amusing. I still think he got his ass kicked because they wanted his halloween candy!
