| This is a common practice in Paris also...where I've seen it done regularly on Rue Blonde off Boulvard Saint Denis...Coincidently, the passengers were also Asians...and the cabbie looked like a pony-tailed version of Sting....He did all the negotiating with the street women...and the guys just stayed in the cab...if a deal couldn't be cut...the cabdriver got in and advanced his cab another 20 feet...and the whole procedure started all over again... When I was a kid, the word on the street was that the cabbies knew where the action was - so this may be an international perception...i.e., "When in Rome....find a cabbie!" To test this hypothesis out, simply ask a Tijuana cabbie if he knows where any girls are... KRICO |
