Actually, agents need NO probable cause to search inbound traffic. The fourth ammendment does not exist at the ports of entry. However, if they are going to hold you for more than 3 hours or do an "invasive body search" (rubber glove kind), new regulations require them to get a magistrate's permision (I think) It may have been your beard, or it may just have been your bad luck day. Some searches are triggered randomly. |
