Prostitution is not and I repeat not legal anywhere in Tijuana.It is tolerated in the zona but even there it is not legal.You must be careful always in tijuana.There system is based on the dollar(as ours is in reality)but they do believe that every gringo is a walking wallet. I sold a house to a ex judge from Mexico City. He told me that when he gave out a sentence to an american the fine was always at least 5 times that of a mexican citizen.He said it was because than this american would go back and tell his friends never to break Mexican laws no matter how small.He also said that the smaller courts in tijuana were set up just to bring in fines. I guess the bottom line is always be careful in tijuana,never break there laws,but expect to pay at least one street fine during your adventures in the zona.That way you won't be surprised or freightened when it happens to you. |
