The laws in Mexico are often arbitrary in regards to certain issues. El Chamuco once posted ( and in fact still probably has references on his site to...)his argument that in Mexico, prostitution is neither legal or illegal, but exists in the official grey area of "tolerance". In fact the official name for places like the Zona Norte is "Zona de Tolerencia" (Zone of Tolerance). Everything depends on who you are dealing with and who is doing the defining. I seriously doubt that any of the bars on Rev are considered to be within the Zona de Tolerencia, especially considering the TJ Restaurant Owners Association's beef with the "gentlemen's clubs" like P & B, Madonna's, etc... So, in fact there is no clarification on this. Prostitution is simply tolerated, presumably until it becomes intolerable, which may be the rprevailing view in regards to it's presence on Rev. A while back, the street girls on Constitucion were slowly encroaching eastward towards Rev, and the cops did a major crackdown, forcing them back into the "Zona de Tolerencia" When you are in Mexico you are subject not only to their laws, but also to their interpretation of those laws, and all the ambiguity and arbitrariness that that may entail. The reason you were popped rather than the girl is that you've got the money. And you'll go home and tell your friends to stay away from the bars on Rev... KRICO
