I heard a couple of women speaking what I thought was Spanish at the San Diego airport. They were clerks at one of the newstands. I asked them if they were speaking Spanish and they looked at me, embarassed. No, they said...it's Tagalog. Sounds a lot like Spanish...could be the influence of the conquerers on the language of the conquered. KRICO |
