Redongdo: Your references to a bye-gone era are dredging up fragments of long-suppressed memories--Owsley, windowpane, Sandoz, Tim Leary acid, Czeckoslovakian black, blotter--and days spent sitting on a rock by a stream while time seemed to stop; trying to comprehend the almost cosmic complexity of tieing your shoelaces; or listening to music that seemed to sear itself into your brain like a cattle-brand. Zap Comics, playing Revolution No. 9 backward, the draft lottery, the Chicago 7, the SDS, "Paul is dead", patchouli incense, slim girls in granny dresses. Did that really happen or was it just a dream? Never had a meaningful discussion with my car for three days, although I used to give it short encouragement talks when it needed it. I did do a three-day STP trip once and then took my Formal Logic midterm on the final day while hallucinating. Kept holding up the exam sheet to try to stop the words from moving around on the page. Got an A. That must have been about the time the education system started declining in America. I figure if we lived through all that, then dealing with a few Mexican chicas and their idiocyncracies is a piece of cake...
