Bullitt, I pretty much had the same thing happen to me, except the girl got away with my money and money clip. I went to the police station and we went back to the hotel and talked to the hotel clerk. Nothing happened, but as I was walking back another street girl grabbed me and told me where the girl was that stole my money. She showed me the hotel and told me what room number the girl was in - this was in a real seedy part of town and I was worried at first this might be a set up, but then I realized my money was already gone. Griselda stayed at the hotel while I walked back to the police station to get them to come to the hotel. They told me it was out of their jurisdiction (eight blocks away) and told me they would send a police unit to the hotel immediately. By this time the robber street girl had walked to a store. The police did not come for about 15 minutes so I had the clerk call again. By the time the police came (half hour later) the girl had gotten away and my informant got scared and took off - she was smoking crystal while she was keeping an eye on the robber girls hotel. I got the police to break into the hotel, but there was a absolutely nothing in the room. The police did not seem to care and asked me to fill out a form - yeah right. Putting my name, phone number, and describing the incident is really going to help me. Bottom line nothing happened and business went on as usual. The robber girl was a part time drug user, and street girl. I keep looking for her and eventually I will see her. I'm not sure what I will do when I see her, but most likely get the police and tell them she stole my money. All that would do is make her miserable life a little more miserable.
