Rock is right. Perhaps I've got a slightly skewed view since I always take care of las meseras, and in fact, have developed a couple of casual relationships as well. (being able to read people's moods helps greatly in this) My expreience is that I can go with a couple of drinks an hour, be willing to share my table, and hang out as long as I want to do so. I'm not talking about tipping $5 per round either. But, if you're tipping them $2-3 per hour, and they know that they can count on at least that much from you, there's not a mesero in La Zona who's going to chase you off a table. The reason I asked who it was that 'asked' anyone to leave is that the only person I can imagine doing that is the older grey haired mesero that everyone dislikes. He tried to shoo me out one night because I wouldn't get a drink from him. Rather, I was ordering from one of mi amiga meseras and when she saw him getting on me about ordering drinks, OH MAN. She came over and just Lit him up! Anyway, as Rock said. Take care of the people who take care of you, and I'll be you never experience anything of this sort again.
