Recently there have been a number of discussions about the choices made by las chicas in TJ. Last night upon returning to Rizo de Oro, I witnessed an OD. The chica was sprawled on the first landing of the steps. She was dry wretching, pleading for air and having convulsions. Four TJ police were standing around with one of her friends. What surprised me was they were unprepared to help her with a decent posture for breathing. (No CPR or emergency training I guess). Nor did they seem anxious to get an ambulance there. After about five minutes an medic of some kind arrived and began to administer to her. Sad all the way around.
