A lot of 'em still " make a living" conning people, like with shoddy roofing jobs, and phony drive-way "re-surfacing", instant body-work on your car is another one ("Hey, are you tryin' ta gyp me?"...)...They milk a city for what they can get and move on..."Latcho Dromo" is a great film (out on video now) about gypsy music, from which a lot of the sound of Spanish music, particularly "flamenco" is derived... Remember when that one stripper chica was dancing to what sounded like middle-eastern music at AB a couple months back? That was real gypsy-esque stuff... The great jazz guitar player, Django Rheinhardt, was a gypsy... KRICO |
