She had to wear a persona other than the one I had become acustomed to being with. She would become harder, more calculating and a little crueler. I actually could watch it pass over her. She was doing what she felt she had to in order to provide for her family. I tried to refrain from being a pain. I've benefited from my friendship with this woman. She has opened certain perspectives within me about life outside the United States. There is a cruelty to survival that we are seldom confronted with. I begin to babble. ¿ Quien sabe ?
