Personally I applaud SP seeking professional help. If he perceives there is a problem there just very well may be. There's a whole lot more to addiction than relieving a biological need/desire and the last person to ask for objective feedback is another addict. Junkies love telling other junkies everything is just fine. Sure a lot of therapists are scammers, but to make a generality like the ones expressed here is potentially more harmful then helpful. I suppose finding a good therapist is like finding a good "amiga" .... a little shopping around with a dash of ymmv.
