Krico, I'm not sure that what I was talking about was really true Zen. But, in my 'western' way of thinking, it's about being aware of the attitudes and environment that you are in. Anyone who's been in La Zona more than a few times, has seen a bar fight at least once. Did you feel it coming? Could you 'feel' the tension rise as a warning? Or, was your first clue the breaking of glass? Celtics is right about booze dulling the sense, but I've seen guys who could get totally 'faced' and still be TOTALLY aware of what was happening around them. Alcohol dulls the conscious mind, but I've found that the sub conscious is still very active, IF you listen to it. Often we hear about the 'vibe' that we feel from chicas, and the suggestion is always to listen to that 'feeling'. What I'm suggesting is that there is a 'vibe' all around you. It's feeling that 'energy' around you. How many times has one of us walked into a bar, and in the first 10 seconds 'known' that something was 'wrong'? Like wise, how many times has one of us walked into a bar and 'known' that it was going to be a good night? Now, think about how often you were right about those feelings. I'll bet that if you listened, and really paid attention, odds are that you'd be close to 90% correct about things. Similarly, how many times has one of us walked into a bar, seen that it's been 'hopping', but then something changes. You can see it. You can feel it. But, if someone asked you to put your finger on what 'it' is, not many of us could. When that happens, how many of us pay attention and either make our move, or move on to another club? I know that this may all sound a little 'deep'. And, I suppose in some ways it is. I'm not suggesting that every one of us is going to start to operate with this 'feeling radar' turned on all the time. I AM SUGGESTING that when you feel DANGER, don't ignore it. Each of us works in a little different way. Every one of us brings something different to TJ. Be it different views, different histories, different likes and dislikes, not much of it really matters. I'm suggesting something that's very different for many members of this community. It's not right. It's not wrong. It just is. But, I'll tell you all. Paying attention to what I 'feel' has saved my ass more than a few times.
