I agree 100% with Redongdo...I was surprised at the appearance of the bar area in La Mesa. Almost like an American busy commercial street. I don't recall the names of the bars we went in (I too was with the La Mesa tourguide, Tomas) but they all were clean and we didn't have any problems whatsoever being the only gringos in the place. The hottie quotient was low but there were some to be found.
