Feliz, I've been out there a few times with Tomas and a few other guys and found nothing remotely close to what you post. The main deterrent is the ten dollar cab ride. The quality of the women is very Las Chavelas like, the clientele almost exclusively Mexican but no antagonistic vibes that I or anyone else detected. What struck me about the area was the total lack of homeless beggar types on the sidewalk...not to mention the sidewalk itself...no potholes or cracks. The main street itself was very wide and modern looking. The taxis in front have two guys in them but it's for the protection of the cabbie...not a two man mugging team. It's ok but no big deal and not worth the time or extra ten bucks to get there not to mention the extra ten bucks to get back.
