yes dude. If they detect weakness of unfamiliarity down there, they will try and shake you down. If you go to the room and the girl raises the price, politely decline, explain you understood $30 and leave. Tell the guy at the desk what happened, and yes, he will give you a while to go downstairs and get somebody more suitable.

The cabbie shit is unreal. Under such circumstances I would have simply ignored the driver, told him the agreement was for $5, or just get out, don't pay, and hop in someone else's cab and offer that cabbie the $5 to complete the trip. He will happily accept.

I have noticed that the worst experiences are generally with the chicas that approach you. I virtually always politely refuse. If you like a chica there's not much you need to do. If you're too shy to proposition her, just stand next to her. The chicas are constantly surveying the radar for potential clients. When she sees you, just smile. She'll do the rest.
