I'd just ask the cabbies through the main gate if $5 is ok. Shouldn't be a problem. I've gotten to know a couple of the cabbies and they will take me to the zona for $3, although one will jokingly complain about it, so I usually tip him a buck and give him shit right back. Kinda funny. There is a young guy who's into the martial arts (grappling, kick boxing) who drives at night in front of the CC. Great guy and has only charged me $6 to the farmacia, although now he drops me just up from the pedestrian crossing at la linea. Even better and no bumpy road. I usually tip him a buck and he always waits for me if he sees me going into the CC for one last look before heading home. A couple of the older guys in front of the CC are worse than some of the drivers in front of AB. The AB cabbie day shift drivers have all been helpful and never try to charge me more than $5 on the return trip to the border. The cabbies are usually the least of my concerns and are usually a GREAT source of info on everything from bars to chicas, rateros, etc... They love hearing about my adventures and offer up their experiences as well. The info has paid off many times over the price of the cab fare. Celtics
