Add to the list teachers, musicians, actors, mail carriers, police, judges, lawyers, doctors, masseusses, physical therapists, secretaries, receptionists, social workers, soldiers, sailors, pilots, taxi drivers, bus drivers, cashiers, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, psychologists, firemen, telephone operators, bank tellers, accountants, street sweepers, stock brokers, clerks, security guards, etc., etc., etc. Are these people all parasites, too? " Absolutely not. All of these folks(with the general exception of lawyers and social workers) ARE producing USEFUL work. I think the only "service" workers you left out that I would draw strict analogies with "prostitutes", would be "topless dancers", "professional atheletes", and "clergymen". They really give nothing back to the system, other than feeding our spirits. |
