The fee request is fourteen dollars. The fee covers history, physical, diagnosis (if any), all laboratory tests, any antibiotics required, and vaccine. Universal lab tests (everyone gets them) Limited lab tests (need to meet criteria to get them) Vaccines Hepatitis B offered to everyone Hepatitis A offered to gay men and injection drug users. Available meds include treatment for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and trichomonas. Herpes meds are usually available through written prescription (outside pharmacy, yes you have to pay for that). Liquid nitrogen treatment available for HPV (genital warts) or molluscum. HPV is diagnosed only through physical exam. Also can get a lot of advice and answers to questions from very experience health care workers. Of course, if you ask them if it's OK to have BB sex with TJ prostitutes, I think I already know their answer, but that's just hype :) (Please no one go off on the above, I was kidding, OK.) Of course, all history and laboratory information, including the fact that you visited the clinic in the first place, is completely confidential. No one is denied county services due to inability to pay. The fee can be waived in such cases. |
