Afterwards, totally contento and relaxed I meandered into Tropical, walked over to the bar, got a drink, and idly started talking in Spanish to 2 mujeres at the bar. It turns out the vivacious, laughing woman I was mildly interested in had been in Tijuana for 3 days. "Tu habla ingles?" "Solamente 'Sucky. Fucky.'". Big laughter all the way around. "Soy buscando para mas de 'sucky. fucky.'" (I'm looking for more than sucky, fucky.) Since I was coming from una fiesta grande and a record-breaking 3 times in 5 hours, I explained that I wasn't interested in sex. After a few drinks, a little dancing, and a little conversation in Spanish, we arrived at the conclusion that she and I should adjourn to my room where she would give me private lessons in dancing cumbia. In casa de Ricardo we danced, drank, talked, and munched the leftovers from the earlier fiesta. I noticed that this was a much more pleasant way to get to know somebody. No pushy waiters hustling drinks. Better and cheaper. After Los Angeles Azules finished doing cumbia, I turned the tape over to Louis Miguel and musica romantica. Eventually we wound up on the bed making out with her giggling most of the time. I "taught" her our dating ritual of "baseball" including demonstrations of getting to first base, second base, and third base. Home plate was saved for "el futuro". She taught me cumbia and I taught her about more than just 'sucky, fucky'. I was very clear in communicating "No novio/novia. Solamente amigos" (No boyfriend/girlfriend. Only friends). She caught on, agreed, and said with a seductive smile "como novia" (like a girlfriend) but para fiesta. We agreed that the next step would be a proper date with dinner, dancing, and amor y sexo. We're on for next week and she definitely is in the running for una amiga especial. What a great experience. I paid her $20 for the dance lessons and as we were leaving the guys clustered around the office snickered lewdly. I thought to myself, "No one would believe that we were alone in a hotel room for a couple of hours and didn't officially have 'sex'". A little Spanish, a little patience, and I'm looking forward with great anticipation to our date. Maybe I'll get lucky and score. ;o) Regards, RickFeliz
