A few months ago I recall an AB chica I was sitting with kidding with Sam the waiter and she said I was her "padrote", I knew she meant pimp but I couldn't remember the word she used except it started with a "p"...that's been bugging me all this time. I don't know what your source is, I'm sure many of the street girls as well as bar girls have some sort of guy playing that role in their lives in varying degrees....but I'd be hesitant to say "most" of them do.
