"Personally, the only real meaning I have found in life is in nihilism. The search for meaining, when carried out to the bitter end, ultimately leads to the discovery that life has no meaning. The sooner this lesson is learned, the better." kendricks, you have summed up my life philosophy nicely. I just didn't know the word for it before. What surprises me is that it is not a more common belief on this board. Can you think of a more nihilistic hobby than mongering???
And again and again... My life is a series of these types of cycles. I distinctly remember being utterly convinced that I was ready to "settle down" with my ex-wife for the rest of my life - several times. I can't even imagine monogamy now, but I guarantee I will feel that urge again at some point. The trick is to recognize that these feelings are temporary. Just as I know that the thrill of doing beautiful young Latina women will eventually fade. Right? It will fade won't it???
Hehe that's so funny. I picture in my mind some bitter/sad looking guy getting a fantastic BJ by some goddess of the Zone, him thinking "I wish I could find me a wife!" We are the luckiest guys in the world, and we don't even know it! Capn Dave |
