I really understand the constitutional issues that have been brought up. As a resident of TJ, I am actually glad for part of this new crime tactic. When I first decided to get a place in the zone, my biggest concerns were my car and the drugs. This was even more brought to my awareness when I was fixing the apartment up and had the proprietors' helper doing some repairs. The jerk was working in the bathroom and I was painting in the kitchen when I smelled something funny. I told myself what the hell. I went into the bathroom where he was working and the clown was smoking crystal. Each day when I walk in, I see someone either using or dealing. I lived in a similar neighborhood here in the states when I was growing up. The place was hell. When I grew up I happened to move back into the same neighborhood and the same things were going on. It took some serious action by neighbors to clean the place up. With the help of the San Diego police dept, we cleaned the neighborhood up. The major catch was that the police could not do it themselves. They needed our help to get the drugs out of the area. If random raids can help clean up the area I now spend time in (TJ), I am going to have to be for the actions. I have to say that in the raids that I have notice to this point no one has been taken. The police did their search, ask their questions, and were on their way to the next stop. I think the tactics have changed a little from the guilty until proven other wise. I realize this does not make it right for us citizens of America, but you need to remember you are in a country where it is there way of doing things. Go with the flow and when in Rome do as the Romans. Be safe and hump happy. LUVDOG |
