Thank you shy guy for a very thorough, medical fact oriented response. It was, of course, exactly what i did NOT want to hear. What I read from your post is 1) the surprising news to me that chicas are not tested for herpes and warts. I had thought they were. 2) It seems no one really knows what these risks are. We know condom use will LOWER the risk, but no one seems to know what the chances are of contracting something having sex with a chica with no visible symptoms, and using a condom. Is it known if a certain viral load has to hit the skin to get the disease? Or will a single virus particle do it? 3) It sounds like going to the doctor for a "clean bill of health" is possibly futile. Apparently there are no tests truly available that can tell you you definitely DON'T have a disease. Seems you can have a disease, be contagious, but never see an outbreak on your own body, and never be conscious of its presence. Thus, even if the Doc examines you and you look clean, it doesn't mean you are. That is creepy. But that one HSV2 test looks like it may have some value. Who's the Doc in SD that offers the HSV2 test? Will they give it to anyone who asks? What's it cost? I would see a value in being screened, just for the peace of mind of knowing you're clean, as long as the result came back negative. 4) It seems the health inspections are useless. If you use a condom, you're not going to get syphilis, gonorhea, or HIV, even if the chica has it. Thus, they provide no additional protection for me, because I always use a condom. But a chica told me that the process does include a visual inspection. Of course, in view of the above, that is close to meaningless. 5) All the guys who say they've been with thousands (I think it's more like dozens) of girls and never caught anything, well, all they really are saying is they've never had the symptoms of anything. They may be a carrier, able to infect someone, and not know it. Or they may be just lucky. Or these diseases may not be as contagious as thought. 6) Further question, what if any value does taking the shower afterwards have? i know herpes is easily killed with soap and water. Does it need to remain on the skin a certain period of time to infect the person? Will a good scrub kill it? I bet no one knows the answers to these questions either. As for your research, what would make me change my behavior? i.e., give up mongering? A perception of substantial risk. A perception that if I keep going to the zona, I am likely to eventually contract one of these diseases. Before your post, I probably had a false sense of security. I will probably re-assess my desire for the zona in the coming days and weeks. For me, health messages mean a LOT. I would cease going to the zona if I believed STDs were more than a vanishing small risk. But on the other hand, consider: I have sometimes questioned chicas about STDs. Sometimes, they are startlingly ignorant about them. I once had a chica intending to perform a BBBJ. I suggested we use a condom. When I asked her, she appeared not to know BBBJ was hazardous for her. Several chicas have told me they've never suffered an STD, many working there several months or more. Of course, who knows if they're telling the truth. But I find it hard to believe they are all lying, and doing it so convincingly. They can't all be asymptomatic carriers. Even opponents of prostitution have admitted STDs are a small risk in the zona, even though they have every reason to exaggerate the risk. And of course, there's our friends who say "i've been going to the zona for 13 years and never got nothing." I remember someone saying precisely that. Posts of people or their friends contracting STDs on this board are almost nonexistent, despite the fact that numerous dudes pass through this board over the months, some leaving and posting no more, others coming in behind them. And many of them are very frequent visitors to the zona. I personally know of only one case, and that was, I believe, Westfargo I think it was, who caught HPV. But he was also known to go with very low end girls. Please excuse me and correct this if I am wrong about Westfargo, but that is my recollection that this was posted about him. So, to sum up, what have we learned? 1) No one really knows what the risks of STDs are in the zona. The risk appears to be "small." 2) Many people claim to go frequently and not catch anything. 3) Condoms will lower your risk, but no one knows by how much. For me, condom use for everything always is a given. I go to the zona to have fun, not to risk my health. 4) Many chicas claim to have never suffered an STD. Of course, they would be motivated to say that regardless. 5) Posts of guys catching STDs are generally rare. I personally know of only 2, in about 2 years of reading these boards. The bottom line to me appears to be that the risk is low, but is always present. This should lead one to think if you keep going, eventually you will get something. But it might take 100 years of mongering.
