It's not that simple. CC gets away with it because either their chicas are higher caliber lookswise than they are in other bars or the rubes that hang there and nowhere else believe it's a fair price. I believe it's a combination of both: The chicas are more American-looking and made up, and the guys that frequent CC are overwhelmingly gringos that don't know much about the rest of the Zona and don't know any better than to pay $8 for 6 oz. of damned expensive jugo. I had an amigo tell me a story a few weeks back that may illustrate this point: A gringo comes to TJ, makes his way to Chicago Club and gets charmed by a chica who turns into a favorita that gets him coming back for more and more and more, eventually becoming pretty much a girlfriend. My friend gets chummy with the guy while hanging out at CC one night and casually drops a reference to Adelitas. The guy in all seriousness asks 'What's Adelitas???' 95% of the gringos that go to TJ looking for some 'accion' don't know shi-ite about these internet boards. They are not exactly educated consumers. Then of course, there are some that DO read the boards that aren't exactly educated either. Explorer, you just now found out chica drinks cost $8 at Chicago Club? Guess you never explored that place, huh?
