I said it SEEMED like some a ya'll was sayin' La Mesa is more dangerous than has been my experience. Sounds like we're clear on this--yeah, it's more dangerous than ya typical gringo is used to, so's TJ in general, and yeah, sure I believe you had bad experiences in La Mesa, plus you're right that ain't really nothin' goin' on there that ya cain't get as good or better in the ZN (I ain't been in more than a year)--I just worry about the opposite of what you worry about--that is, that rooks will get too scared to try anything different down there if all they see is what sometimes looks like people talkin' about how all the gringos gets killed soon as they leave AB. We all different. From my perspective, and given where I grew up, the Zona ain't really no thang. Yeah, I keep my eyes peeled, and I'm ready to deal whenever I need to deal, but I don't walk around shakin', and it don't seem all that different to me than some places where I've lived up in this muthafucka up here in the north. Other mongers I've talked to down there who have similar experiences to mine have more or less the same feeling about danger in TJ and the Mexican borderzone generally. Real, very real, so don't slack, by any means, but c'mon, if it was all THAT crazy, would all us muthafuckas keep goin' down there? Peace and much respect for ya, baby! |
