When I drive from North of LA (I5 at 405/210 split) I take the 210 East to the I15 South. Technically this is 5-210-57-10-15. Buy passes rush hour completely, except that 15 into SD can back up a little. In SD take the 8 from 15 to the 5 (about 3 miles). But why not fly? Probably cheaper than gas. Definitely cheaper than $0.32 per mile.
