YB mi amigo, I 2nd the route Matiz mentioned. That is also the way I go when I'm leaving from LA. I love the toll road through Newport to Capistrano, nice and scenic, but avoid between 3AM to 6AM because of the thick coastal fog. All other hours are no problem. If you HAVE to drive between those hours just follow Matiz's tailights!!!!!!!
