I have talked to the customs office at the TJ walk-through. They are nice. I asked them what it would take to bring across a trailer full of used furniture. It was 17% of stated value minus $50 for me. I paid a total of $26 for kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. I stated the value and asked the attendant if she thought it sounded OK. She may have different opinions for womens clothes and toys. I have also been asked to push the button at the walk-through to see if I was subject to searching my duffle bag, just like entering at an airport from the U.S. If you walk thru with a suitcase you may be asked to push the button, green no search, red search. Later, past about 11PM, I usually do not see an attendant at the outside walk-through check point.
