A few notes on my weekly pilgrimage to TJ:
I stayed in a jacuzzi suite at Hotel Cascadas, $65. During the next 24 hours, I took a LC mesera, a SG and Rosa Maria up to the room. I'm now exhausted.

During the middle of the night, there was a big ruckus in Las Chevalas, major glass breaking and chicas screaming. I have no idea what it was about.

I had dinner in the Monte Carlo restaurant next to AB, where I ran into a couple of chicas having dinner there. We talked about the business for a while - one of the chicas was from Guadalajara, 20 years, no babies, and really fine. They offered to go up with me together to my room, but I was somewhat drained at the moment. Note that they told me that there was no problem going to the Cascadas, assuming the bar fine was paid.

The concensus between the 2 chicas was that gringos go to Chavelas, Bar Tropical and Miami because they are cheap. I explained that I didn't go for the 'let's go to the room' pitches from the AB chicas.

One of the two chicas told me that she has been staying in the Hotel Coahuila for 1 year, including a period when she went back home for a month *and forgot to check out of the hotel*. Needless to say, she had a huge hotel bill when she came back.

Las Chavelas: There was a live band most of the day on Friday, playing the usual Mexican music. I have no idea why.

El Pelicano: I stopped by here for a while, and did the ficha thing with Michelle, a stripper from Monterrey, who told me about her career in TJ, a rather interesting story. She came to TJ on vacation with a girlfriend a couple of years ago, saw the Bambi sign on the Revo bar, and went in. She saw some gringas dancing, and on the spot asked the manager for a job. The rest was history. She also worked at Sans Souci, but said there were too many TVs on the Revo bars, and ended up at AB for a couple of months. There, she got sick of climbing the hotel stairs every half hour, and decided to move to El Pelicano to dance, though she still goes to the hotel. Michelle has an extensive and distinctive tatoo on her back, you can't miss her.
