When I finally broke down and told my mother that I had a Mexican "girlfirend"(and that she's a schoolteacher-LOL)the first thing she said was.."oh does she want to marry you and live in the U.S.?"..truth is, she lived here for two years as an illegal, and I'm sure suffered all the accompanying abuses, and has no desire whatsoever
to live here again. If we're going to have any kind of a future,I'm going to have to live in her hometown. I asked her once if we win the lottery,
we can have houses in Mexico and anywhere else in the world you want, where would you like to live?
Her answer? Mexico! I'm currently reading a fascinating book called "Mexican Lives", it's got
an interesting chapter on the political history of Mexico.I highly recommend it.
