I had a long conversation with my amiga especial about how she became involved in the sexo industry. This girl came from a large family in Michoacon. She left home at 15 and moved to Mexico city where she worked mainly waitressing jobs (she says she was hired because she was young and had big chichi's). Despite having grown up in an environment where premarital sex was forbidden she began screwing around and quickly became pregnant. She than moved back with her mother who was disgusted with her and felt she had shamed the whole family, in addition she said being a single mother marked her as a loose and undesirable woman making it impossible for her to find a husband and extremely difficult for her to find any kind of job. Then her mother decided that since she was having sex with men anyways she might as well be getting paid for it and the mother began bringing men to the house to have sex with her daughter. Around this time she got pregnant again. She finally left her mother along with one of her kids (leaving the other with a cousin) with the intention of coming to the U.S., she made it as far as Tijuana where she discovered how easy it was to make lots of money in the Tijuana sex trade. I asked her why she didn't insist the men used condoms and she said in her community condoms were not "everywhere" like in the cities plus she had believed only "dirty" women buy condoms. I also asked her where her father was during all this and she said like most of the men in her town he was working the fields in the U.S..
