But true...!! I just called'em up...That's absolutely insane on their part. They've increased their room rates by 75 percent! I was quoted 36 bucks in Spanish...I even repeated it as 26 bucks in a suitably incredulous tone of voice. When he said "treinte-seis dollares ( 36 bucks) I said "veinte-seis?" (26) and he repeated it 36 in Spanish and English. Gentlemen, the Golden Age is over ( unless you want to fuck street skag in flophouse hotels...). I must admit the last time I used the Hotel Coahuila for an all night basis was last October...but geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezuz! From 22 bucks to 36?!! Four years ago many of the old ASPT guys felt that the day would come when the internet would ruin TJ, and I do believe, that day has indeed come... I can only hope for a "puta dot com" collapse...
