Right you are. Rather than cause a big scene, I just forked over the buck. Yesterday afternoon, upon leaving AB I encountered another gringo complaining to a cab driver who had quoted him $7. I agreed to share the ride with him. But the surprise was when he drove all the way around and dropped us off at the front of the row of stores on the right side of the highway... without us even asking him to. At least he was upfront about the $7 fare. I'm learning that all cabbies are not created equal.
